Rank and Squad (The Reach Campaign)

From Karriviki

The trooper player characters form a squad that is composed of one or more fire teams.

The squad is lead by a squad leader (Sergeant E-5, 12 Cr/day) and the fire teams are lead by fire team leaders (Corporal E-4, 10 Cr/day). Everyone else is private (Private Second Class E-2, 3 Cr/day or Private First Class E-3, 5 Cr/day).

In the beginning of play, the character with the best Cha in the group is the squad leader. (in case of tie, compare Lead skills and Wisdom). The character with the best Wisdom in a fire team is the team leader.

Later, squad composition may change as all replacement troopers are Private Second Class. Then any character can be assigned as a team leader as needed.

Robot Characters

Any robots count as recruits (Recruit E-1), but can be given commands by anyone, including privates. In the case of confusing orders, the higher rank has precedence.

The role of the robot is determined by it's design, usually a gunner or an ammo carrier.

Fire Team Compositions

The flexible nature of post modern warfare requires that the unit composition can be changed as the mission requires. The squad leader can assign the teams and team members as needed.

The company leader will assign non-sentient robots to fill the squad roster if there is lack of man-power. (If there are less than 8 players, add robots to fill the gap.)
